We are a friendly but more
than slightly nuts group of off-roader's who like nothing
better than to take our motors and get them very dirty and
brutalised at trials events no matter what the weather. We
battle wind, rain, snow and (very) occasionally sun, all
with a view to seeing just how far we really can push the
boundaries of performance
without killing ourselves or each other (preferably!!).
We do this at least once a
month usually on the second Sunday in the
month except for bank holidays which twice a year are a
three day event.
Our events are CCV trials run under the MSA rules and we welcome members from other clubs who wish to come and drive at our trials.
There
is also the Northern Trials League which is now in its sixth year
and will have members from the six clubs participating, each club hosting one round.

Hi to all
members of MSA and ARC Trials clubs!!.
You are
welcome to come and join us at any of our events and if it
doesn't scare the pants off you we can probably find you a half
decent motor to buy so you can have a go yourself. We like fresh
blood (so to speak!!), it keeps us on top of our game and stops
us getting complacent and lazy!.

Adolf
the Scrutineer's Pet Peev of the Month
|
|
 |
Adolf's Peev
of the month for September is
Throttle Springs
(Dei
twingentwangen runnenstoppen). All motors,
irrespective of class must have an extra throttle return spring
fitted to the throttle linkage on their engine (regardless of
how many are already factory fitted). |
|
This is to
guarantee that, in the event of a roll-over (Yes please!
Camera
waiting!), your engine will shut down to just tick-over
minimising the risk of fuel leakage from the top of the engine
and that the resulting risk of engine fires is minimised without
you having to use your expensive extinguisher (dei
Splishensplashentorchenstoppen) to put it out before your
motor's a total loss.
Aside from
anything else, whilst none of use will be winning any beauty
pageants anytime soon, we'd all look a damned sight worse with
our ears and nose burnt off and skin the sort of colour mine
goes after a long day in the sun.
Twangen si
springs Herr
Competitor , Schnell !! (You never know when it might have
fallen off!!)

Next Pennine Event
Our next
event is at Merrydale in Sunny Slaithwaite on 19th September. This is
a brand new site and rather more importantly, right on my
doorstep so that I can fall straight out of bed and not have to
get up at sparrow fart just to get there in decent time.
C of C is
Clive Bottomley who has around 30 years of trialling experience
under his belt so don't come expecting any favours. It's also
worth mentioning that the sites mighty steep so bring an extra
pair of lungs for walking back up to the car for lunch (and try
not to roll your jalopy as it's a bloody long way to the bottom)

Next NTL Event
The next
round of the NTL League (Round 6) is to be hosted by Lancashire
and Cheshire
ROC and will be at Hartington Quarry (That's Hawshaw to us Pennine
types). This is the re-arranged original first round due to the
problems with the competition licences

This will be
on 12th September 2010. Don't forget this is a camping event so
you're feel free to roll up the day before (and steal a march on
the opposition by watching them set it out and drive it!). Don't forget your
MSA Non-Race Clubmans Licence if you're taking part in the NTL
part of the event. |
